Course details:
This supervision course is designed to provide participants with enhanced supervisory skills that can be used immediately in a positive, problem-solving and proactive way.
The emphasis of the course is to equip the supervisors with knowledge and skills that they can begin using immediately in supervision meetings with their staff. The presentation of the course will be a mixture of group discussion, demonstration and skills practice and participants will receive a copy of all the resources and handouts for their use upon returning to work. Over the two days the participants will be exposed to the history, background theory and current practice of this supervision model and the training will be structured in three main parts.
Part One will focus on how our prior history of supervision has helped and hindered our current practice and how to take the best parts of that forward.
Part Two of the training will centre on the model of supervision and will give the participants a structure to follow when they return to practice with their staff.
Part Three of the training will focus on the skills that are required conduct a supervision session using a range of techniques that are essential to initiate and develop a positive supervision relationship with their staff. Participants will also be supplied with a workable supervision policy and contract for use in their own organisation.
The course will take place from 9:30 to 5:00 on March 8th & 9th in the West Dublin Education Centre in the grounds of Tallaght IT and costs €195 per person.
